Extract Pages from PDF

Pick the PDF, check the page count the tool shows, and type the pages you want to keep in the new file:

• 4 for just the signed page of a contract.
• 2, 7, 15 for three scattered pages, such as the invoices for one client.
• 30-34 for an appendix.

Page numbers count from the first page of the file, which may not match the numbers printed on the pages. The new PDF downloads as extracted-pages.pdf and your original is left alone.

Whatever order you type them in, the pages are sorted before they're copied. 9, 2 gives you page 2 followed by page 9, never the other way round. Numbers past the last page are dropped without a warning, so 3, 50 on a 12-page file gives only page 3.

To put pages in a custom order, extract them in separate runs (one file with page 9, another with page 2) and combine them with Merge PDF Files, adding them in the order you want.

Each extracted page brings its own content with it: text, fonts, images and any comments or web links placed on that page. Settings that belong to the whole document stay behind. The extract has no bookmarks, its title and author are blank, and fillable form fields may no longer work as a form. If you're pulling pages out of an application form so someone can fill them in, test the fields in the extracted file before you send it.

Page content is copied unchanged, including any printed page numbers. Pages 30 to 34 of a report still say “Page 30 of 40” in their footer after extraction. If that's confusing for the recipient, mention it, or add fresh numbering with Add Page Numbers to PDF, keeping in mind that the old footer text remains underneath.
