Rotate PDF Pages
Rotate every page of a PDF by 90°, 180° or 270° and download the fixed file — perfect for sideways scans.
Every page turns by the same amount
Choose 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise, and the tool adds that turn to every page in the file. It adds to whatever rotation each page already has, rather than replacing it:
| Page's current rotation | You choose | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 0° | 90° clockwise | 90° |
| 90° | 90° clockwise | 180° |
| 90° | 90° counter-clockwise | 0° |
| 270° | 180° | 90° |
Pages that started at different angles keep the same difference between them. The download is called rotated.pdf.
To pick the right option, look at a sideways page: if the top of the text points left, choose 90° clockwise; if it points right, choose 90° counter-clockwise; if it is upside down, choose 180°.
No quality loss
A PDF page has a rotation setting that tells viewers and printers which way up to show it. This tool changes only that setting. The text, images and scan inside the page aren't redrawn or re-compressed, so a rotated scan is exactly as sharp as before, and text stays selectable.
Fixing only some pages
Because every page turns, a scan with a single upside-down page needs a few steps. For a 10-page scan where page 4 is upside down:
- With Extract Pages from PDF, save pages
1-3, then4, then5-10as three files. - Rotate the single-page file by 180° here.
- Merge the three files back together in order with Merge PDF Files.
Extracting and merging drop the document's bookmarks, so do this before adding any.
What the rotated file keeps
Unlike the extract and merge tools, rotation edits the original document and saves it again. Bookmarks, form fields, and the title and author stay in place. The file's producer is changed to pdf-lib and its modification date is updated.
Saving rewrites the whole file, so a digitally signed PDF will show its signature as invalid afterwards. Encrypted PDFs aren't decrypted, so results from those are unreliable. The file is processed on your device and not uploaded.
How to use this tool

Frequently asked questions
Does rotating change the page size?+
No. The page keeps its dimensions; the viewer just displays it turned, so a portrait page rotated 90 degrees appears landscape.
Will the rotation stay when I open the file in another program?+
Yes. Rotation is stored in the PDF itself, so every standard viewer and printer shows the page the new way up.
Can I rotate by 45 degrees?+
No. PDF page rotation only works in steps of 90 degrees, which is why those are the only choices.
Is 270 degrees the same as 90 degrees counter-clockwise?+
Yes. Three quarter-turns clockwise end up in the same place as one quarter-turn the other way.
