PNG to PDF Converter
Turn PNG images into a PDF document — each image becomes a page, with transparency flattened correctly.
Screenshots become pages at their pixel size
Every PNG gets its own page, sized at one PDF point per pixel. Points are 1/72 of an inch, so screen captures turn into big pages:
| PNG (pixels) | Page size |
|---|---|
| 1920 × 1080 desktop screenshot | 26.67 × 15.00 in |
| 1080 × 1920 phone screenshot | 15.00 × 26.67 in |
| 1240 × 1754 | 17.22 × 24.36 in |
On screen that's fine: viewers zoom the page to fit. Each image covers its page fully, so there are no margins. Pages come out in the order your files are listed, and the file downloads as images.pdf.
Transparency is kept, not flattened
If a PNG has any transparent or semi-transparent pixels, its alpha channel is stored in the PDF as a soft mask. Nothing is painted behind the image, so the transparent parts show whatever the viewer draws under the page, which in most viewers is white. A logo with a transparent background therefore looks like it's on white paper.
A fully opaque PNG, such as an ordinary screenshot, gets no mask at all.
Lossless, but not a byte-for-byte copy
Unlike JPG, a PNG can't be dropped into a PDF as it is. The library decodes each PNG to plain 8-bit colour values and re-compresses them with the PDF's own lossless compression. For ordinary 8-bit PNGs the pixels are identical. Two cases differ:
- 16-bit PNGs (common from scanners and photo software) are reduced to 8 bits per channel.
- Palette PNGs, the small ones with 256 colours or fewer, are expanded to full colour, so the PDF can be noticeably bigger than the PNG.
Text and metadata chunks in the PNG are not carried over.
Animated PNGs are refused
An animated PNG with more than one frame stops the conversion with the message Animated PNGs are not supported. Remove it from the list, or export a single frame as a normal PNG first. All conversion happens in your browser, so the screenshots are never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put PNG and JPG images in the same PDF?+
Yes. Both formats are accepted in one batch, and each image becomes one page in list order.
Can I search or copy the text in a screenshot PDF?+
No. The screenshot is stored as a picture, so the words in it aren't text. You'd need an OCR tool to make it searchable.
How do I make a PNG-based PDF smaller?+
Convert the screenshots to JPG first with PNG to JPG, then build the PDF from the JPGs. Bear in mind that transparent areas turn black in a JPG.
Will the pages print at a sensible size?+
Only if you scale them. The pages are sized from pixels, not paper, so pick fit-to-page in the print dialog.
