Bold Text Generator
Turn plain text into ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐๐จ๐๐ you can paste into Instagram, WhatsApp, X and LinkedIn bios.
These are different characters, not a bold font
The generator doesn't apply formatting. It swaps each letter for a look-alike from Unicode's Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, a set of characters made for maths notation. H becomes ๐ (U+1D407, mathematical bold capital H), a separate character that happens to look like a bold H in most fonts.
That is why it survives places where you can't format text, such as a profile bio or a comment box: you are pasting plain text, just unusual plain text. It also means the result can't be โunboldedโ by your keyboard's bold button. To undo it, retype the text or keep the original.
Which characters get converted
The mapping covers exactly three ranges:
- capital letters A to Z
- small letters a to z
- digits 0 to 9
Everything else passes through unchanged. For example, Hello World 2026 becomes ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐๐, while Cafรฉ au lait, rรฉsumรฉ becomes ๐๐๐รฉ ๐๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ญ, ๐ซรฉ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฆรฉ. The accented รฉ stays regular weight, and so do ร, รฑ, punctuation, emoji and letters from other alphabets. In a name like Zoรซ or ลukasz one letter will look noticeably thinner than the rest, so preview the result before posting it.
What you give up by using Unicode bold
Because the letters are different characters, software that reads text treats them differently from normal words:
- Screen readers may skip them, read them letter by letter, or announce long names like โmathematical bold capital Hโ. Someone listening to your post may miss the bolded part entirely.
- Search: a search for
salemay not find๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐. Keep names, keywords and anything people might look up in plain letters. - Missing glyphs: a device whose fonts lack these characters shows empty boxes instead.
- Length: each bold letter is stored as 2 code units, so
Hellocomes out as 10 characters by the tool's own count and may use more of a length limit than you expect.
Where it pastes well and where to avoid it
Unicode bold works best for a short accent: a heading line in a bio, a single word in a caption, a label in a chat message. Many apps that accept emoji will accept these characters too.
Avoid it where text has to be matched or processed: usernames and handles (many only allow plain letters and numbers), email addresses, form fields, hashtags, and anything a customer might copy and search for. A whole paragraph in bold is also tiring to read and multiplies the accessibility problems above.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my bold text show as boxes on some phones?+
The phone's fonts don't include the mathematical bold characters, so it has nothing to draw. Nothing is wrong with the text itself. It displays normally on devices whose fonts do include them.
Can I make accented letters bold too?+
Not with this tool. The mathematical bold set only has the 26 basic Latin letters in each case and the ten digits, so letters such as รฉ, รผ and ร stay in their normal weight.
Is Unicode bold bad for SEO?+
It can hide words from anyone searching for them, because the bold characters are not the same as normal letters. On your own website, use real bold formatting in the page code instead, which keeps the text readable to search engines and screen readers.
