Bubble Text Generator (ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ)

Wrap every letter in a circle — ⓛⓘⓚⓔ ⓣⓗⓘⓢ — for playful posts and usernames.

Circled letters and digits from Enclosed Alphanumerics

Bubble text uses real Unicode characters from the Enclosed Alphanumerics block, where every Latin letter exists in a circle. The generator swaps each one in:

You typeYou getCode points
A to ZⒶ to ⓏU+24B6 to U+24CF
a to zⓐ to ⓩU+24D0 to U+24E9
1 to 9① to ⑨U+2460 to U+2468
0⓪U+24EA

Capitals and small letters keep their case, so Party at 10 becomes Ⓟⓐⓡⓣⓨ ⓐⓣ ①⓪. Spaces, punctuation, accented letters and emoji are left as typed: Señor becomes Ⓢⓔñⓞⓡ, with a plain ñ in the middle.

Numbers are circled one digit at a time

Unicode also has single circled numbers above 9, such as ⑩ and ⑳, but the generator doesn't use them. It converts each digit separately, so 10 becomes two bubbles, ①⓪, and 20 becomes ②⓪.

If you want a single circled number for a list or a step, copy it from the table of circled numbers in your device's character picker and paste it in after converting. For everything from 0 to 9 the generator's output is already the one-character version.

The capital M that turns into an emoji

One character behaves differently from the rest. Ⓜ, the circled capital M, is also on Unicode's emoji list, so some devices draw it as a coloured emoji instead of a plain circled letter. In Meet Ana in NYC, which becomes Ⓜⓔⓔⓣ Ⓐⓝⓐ ⓘⓝ ⓃⓎⒸ, the first letter can end up looking out of place.

If that bothers you, use a lowercase m, which has no emoji form. Preview your text on a phone before using it in a username or post where looks matter.

Practical limits of bubble text

Each circled character is a single code unit, so the length doesn't grow: Mia & Max is 9 characters in and 9 out. That makes bubble text easier to fit into short fields than bold or italic Unicode.

The trade-offs are the same as for any look-alike letters. A device without suitable fonts shows boxes, a screen reader may announce each one as “circled latin small letter…”, and a search for the plain word won't match. Use it for a short decorative name or heading, not for information people need to read or find.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make black filled bubble letters?+

Not with this tool. It only produces the outlined circled letters. Unicode's filled circles exist only for capital letters, as a separate set, and the generator doesn't use them.

Will bubble text work in a username?+

Only where the site allows symbols beyond plain letters and numbers. Many sign-up forms reject them. Display names and bios tend to accept a wider range of characters than handles do.

Why does my bubble text look uneven?+

The circled characters often come from a different font than the rest of your text, so their size and stroke weight can differ. Accented letters and punctuation that weren't converted also sit at normal size between the circles.
